Zara coat (old collection) and shoes - Century21 department store pants - Stradivarius Bag - H&M shirt

Asos Bag and beanie - C&A sweater - Boohoo booties - Zara Jean - Sheinside coat

Negin Mirsalehi Interview

DW__Who is Negin?
Hi! My name is Negin Mirsalehi, I’m turning 26 this November and I live in The Netherlands. I’m the owner and creative mind of neginmirsalehi.com, which is my personal style platform. Fashion is my biggest passion, and I love to inspire my following (which has grown to almost 2 million) on a daily basis through Instagram and my blog.

DW__When did you started blogging and How did you come up with the idea?
I started blogging two years ago, because I felt that it was the perfect next step after my success on Instagram. When I passed my master degree, I didn’t want to find an average job at an office or something. I really wanted to chase my dreams and be able to live from my passion, which is fashion ! Everyday I’m thankful for my decision.

DW__Could you introduce your blog Neginmirsalehi.com?
Neginmirsalehi.com is my personal style platform where you’ll find fashion, beauty, and lifestyle related articles. My favorite part of the website must be Negin360, which gives you the full story behind every look: locations, background information, outfit details, relevant social posts, and related articles.

DW__What is fashion for you?
Fashion has always been a big passion of mine. As a kid I looked up to my sister, who has beenmy biggest inspiration. I loved dressing up, which still is my favorite part of the day. Style represents who you are, without having to speak. That’s what I love about fashion!

DW__Where do you get your ideas from and how do you define your style?
Inspiration is everywhere! I get inspired by so many different things such as magazines, daily habits, beautiful photos on Instagram, memories, and traveling. I would say my style is feminineand elegant, but with a fun and edgy twist to it.

DW__What is your typical workday?
My days are never the same: they’re full of meetings, shoots, working on blog posts, and traveling. And I enjoy every second of it!

DW__What do you think about the influence of fashion bloggers in the fashion world?
I think blogs are a great addition to the fashion world in general. It’s a nice way for brands to present themselves, and I love how you can get inspiration on a whole new level: through websites, blogs, and social media. It’s so much more dynamic and approachable.

DW__What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
I love that I’m able to inspire my readers with beautiful content of good quality on a daily basis. Their support always keeps me going, makes me want to improve my work, and encourages me to try out new things.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration?
See question #5.

DW__Who would qualify to be an icon?
I would say Olivia Palermo, because she always surprises me with her looks. Olivia has a great sense of style and she’s always on point!

DW__If you had to choose only one pair of shoes what would it be?
That’s a tough question you got there! I think I would go for my black ankle boots, as they go with almost every outfit. Plus, they have a sophisticated and edgy feel while wearing really comfortable at the same time.

DW__3 Indispensable items?
This upcoming winter it must be the turtleneck sweater, a pair of seventies over the knee boots, and chic culottes (cropped wide leg pants). Those items really stood out to me at the fashion weeks in New York and Milan!

DW__3 favorite places in your city?
Vondelpark, which is the most beautiful park in Amsterdam – perfect for a walk or to sit down and relax for a while. If you want to go shopping I’d recommend Negen Straatjes: a lovely area full of amazing boutiques. And De Pijp is a great neighborhood, you’ll find lots of nice restaurants out there!

DW__3 words to describe fashion?
Fashion to me is inspiring, a way to express yourself, and never ending.

DW__What are your future projects?
I’m really looking forward to Miami Design Week, which is in December. And we’re also heading to Paris for a collaboration with a fashion house I’m very passionate about. I’m really excited for these two things! Can’t wait to share more soon.
