I’m Chelsea Lankford, twenty and living in Minneapolis!
I began writing my blog in October of 2010.
Since I shopped online and put outfits together all the time, my mom suggested I start a blog to show other people my ideas! I started and fell in love with the whole blogging community.
There are people who are fashionable, and there are people who have style. I have “a” style, but a lot of the time I’m not necessarily wearing what the fashion industry is telling me to wear. Fashion is art, an expression of feeling, a result of something that inspires you.
Obviously trends come and go, but I am seriously impressed by how long the 70’s trend has stuck around for!
The fashion world has taken such an interest in fashion bloggers because we represent reality. We don’t have stylists, we post what we love, and the industry can see the influence bloggers have on their audience. Blogging has much more sway in the industry than before.
I strongly believe blogs will be around for a long time, but I definitely think they will evolve just like the magazine has. Many magazines can be read electronically now, but they are separate from blogs. I think they’ll stay separate for quite some time still.
My Levi’s denim leggings. I wear them almost every day.
I’ve always considered the way I dress to be very personal, because I like to be comfortable. If something isn’t comfortable or I don’t feel confident in it, I won’t wear it no matter what celebrity has it or which magazine it was in.
The blog world, definitely! And I like looking through editorials for places like Shopbop and Piperlime for the season’s key pieces, and Free People for styling inspiration.
All the wonderful people I’ve met through blogging. They are always doing something new and exciting!
Looking good is a huge confidence booster for all people. You’re more friendly, more comfortable, more at ease when you look your best. Also, styling is a career where it is crucial to look presentable, because potential clients are going to judge you based on how you look. First impressions really are that important.
Someone who wears their style with confidence—like natural beauty Emma Watson. Thousands now look to her for style inspiration as she continues to define her signature look.
I love when a guy finds a pair of perfect fitting jeans, that aren’t too tight or too baggy. Plus, a knockout pair of boots is always acceptable!
Can’t speak! Heart racing! Excitement!
Probably getting to meet up with one of my favorite bloggers, Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty! She came up to Seattle for a couple days and we got to get lunch and explore one afternoon. She is adorable, I miss her!
Grey. Seattle’s weather has rubbed off on me!
My favorite blogs are The Style Child (thestylechildblog.com), Denj (hellodenj.com) and Kenzie Faith (kenziefaith.blogspot.com). Also, check out fashism.com and birchbox.com—love them!
Thank you for the interview, and I can’t wait to see you over at my blog!
