Sunita Interview

DW__Who are you?
Hi I'm Sunita! A fashion blogger from the Midwest currently living in NYC. I blog full time about my daily outfits, food, inspirations, etc.. I'm a huge foodie and love trying new and different cuisines and I am also a HUGE animal lover.

DW__When did you started blogging and How did you come up with the idea?
I started blogging in April of 2013, I originally wanted to start when I moved to NYC over four years ago but people told me it wasn't a good idea... Thank goodness I eventually started to just go for it and start it because I love blogging. I got the idea from the simple fact of how much I love NYC and I wanted to share that with people from all over because before I moved here I remember how badly I wanted to live in this city and I would search online for blogs about NYC. Eventually it transitioned from my love of NYC to my love of fashion.

DW__Could you introduce your blog Sunitav.com?
Sunitav.com is a way for me to share a bit about myself and my daily outfits, I also will get more into talking about hair, I have a lot of it and I enjoy exploring this natural hair journey :).

DW__What is fashion for you?
Fashion is a way to express yourself in the exact way you want. Depending on my mood or energy I can totally switch up my style. If I want to feel serious I can opt for a all black outfit, If I want to feel care free and flexible could do a casual sporty chic look, etc...

DW__According to you, what is the most significant period for women's fashion?
This current period. We've come so far for women and people in general and as time goes on there seems to be more and more abilities for freedom and self expression and its a beautiful thing.

DW__I love your style Sunita! Where do you get your ideas from and How do you define your style?
Thank you so much! I'm inspired by everything. The weather, music , Michael Jackson, my mom , other countries, etc.. I love being versatile and not limiting myself to a certain aesthetic. I like to be borderline on trend but with my own flavor.

DW__How did you get this passion for fashion?
My mom, she has great taste. She was dressing me in vintage items, colored jeans , corduroys, clogs, sari's, etc.. before any of these things were 'cool'.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration?
Michael Jackson, I have always been a fan. I admire not only his natural talent but his fashion sense was amazing and unique.

DW__You have incredible hair, What is your hair care regimen?
Aw Thank you so much! It means so much to me when I hear that, I grew up hating my hair. I grew up in a small town and no one looked like my family and I so I was very insecure for a very, very long time. Wearing my hair in it's natural state is not only healthier for my hair but makes me feel powerful! Loving yourself inside and out after not knowing how to do that for so long feels amazing. My hair regiment is minimal. The less I do to it the better it looks. I condition it everyday that I wear it down and apply a leave-in conditioner.

DW__What are your favorite products (for your hair)?
I really like Aphogee, Pantene and L'oreal for conditioners and Kinky Curl Leave-in.

DW__3 Indispensable items?
Chapstick, hair conditioner, moisturzer.

DW__3 favorite places in New York?
Central Park ( I never get tired of it, so beautiful), Queens ( Great spot for fining authentic food), Hudson River Park ( great for biking!).

3 words to describe fashion?
Ever-changing , yours, fun!

DW__What are your future projects?
This year I'm going to get into YouTube to do more hair-related posts and same for my blog, maybe I'll do a whole section just for hair :).

DW__Websites? blogs? other links?

DW__One last/final word?
Thank you for letting me share a bit about myself xo.
